On March 2, 2021, Georgia Mae Lewis passed away at a hospital in Yukon, Oklahoma after being diagnosed with pneumonia following a positive test for COVID-19, at the age of 68. Georgia was born to the late George Wilson Sr. and Eva Wilson on September 27, 1952, and was their first daughter.
Georgia grew up in Bryan, Texas where she met her husband Otis Lewis and they were married on December 15, 1975. From this union, three beautiful daughters whom they loved very much were born.
Throughout her life, she was known for her unconditional love and support of her children, grandchildren, and family. Georgia was also known for enjoying fellowships with friends through games of bingo. The brilliance of her personality was infectious and she could always be counted on to uplift spirits and stir up joy and laughter. She graduated from Kemp High School in 1971, where she was also bused to beauty school at Stephen F. Austin. Georgia was a member of New Testament Pentecostal Church in Bryan, Texas, where she formerly served as an Adult Sunday School teacher and a member of the Finance Committee. In 2013, Georgia decided to take early retirement from St. Joseph Hospital as a certified medication aid after eight years of service.
Georgia Mae Lewis is preceded in death by her late father George Wilson Sr., her eldest brother, Edward Lee Harris, and her youngest brother, Patrick Wayne Wilson.
Those left to cherish her memories include her three loving daughters: Nakisha Lewis-Williams (Maurice) of Yukon, Oklahoma; Monique Lewis of Dallas, Texas; and Georgiana Offer of Katy, Texas; six grandchildren: Shantoria Taylor and Brandon Dickson Jr. of Dallas, Texas; Mykayla and Janiya McDonald of College Station, Texas; and Dewayne, Jr, Darrius, and Devin Offer of Katy, Texas; and one great-granddaughter, Nylah (aka French Fry); her loving mother, Eva Mae Martin(Aninas) of Bryan, Texas; her brothers and sisters - Evelyn Nutall (Cecil), Elizabeth Green, Barbara Collins (Willie Sr.), Debra Wilson, Jacqueline Wilson, George Wilson Jr., Roland Wilson Sr., Milton Wilson Sr. (Rhonda), special friend Mac Bishop and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. Georgia will be dearly missed by all of those that loved her, moving forward is like a piece of our hearts is missing.
