Florene Susan Garr, beloved Mother and Nana, passed away on June 6, 2021 at the age of 69. "Susie" entered this world to parents David Williams and Pauline (Perry) Williams on March 1, 1952 in El Reno, Oklahoma. Growing up in El Reno, she met J.W. "Jim" Garr, III early in life. Head-over-heels in love, they married when she was just 16 years old. She completed high school and began a beautiful life with her family.
Susie and Jim welcomed two children, Jeremy and Kylie, and they remained close throughout their lives. One would often find Jim and Susie riding motorcycles or spending time outdoors together with the whole family. Susie could be identified with her love of bright colors such as turquoise, purple, and pink. Her talents could be seen as she decorated her home and enjoyed her flowers. The peacock, her favorite animal, is represented in Native American culture as full of pride, knowledge, self-confidence, dignity, and most of all, beauty. Proud of her Chickasaw Tribe, Susie would often be seen wearing turquoise jewelry in honor of her heritage. Susie loved her family most of all, especially when they spent time together. You may have had the special chance to share a glass of wine with her. Everyone who knew Susie will miss her smile, laugh, and the way she loved everyone and life itself.
Susie Garr is preceded in death by the love of her life J.W. Garr III, her parents David and Pauline Williams, brother Sonny Williams, sister Frita Williams, four half-brothers, and two half-sisters. Susie is survived by her daughter Kylie and husband Mel and her son Jeremy; three grandsons Kayne Noah Profitt, Kaston James Profitt and Dalton Lucas Tiller; brothers Floyd "Bubba" and Kenny Williams; sisters Janice Quintero and Kathy Williams Hall; mother-in-law Bettye Garr; brother-in-law Brad Garr and wife Kathy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Susie's life will be remembered on Friday, June 11 at 2:00 pm at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary with burial to follow at the Mustang Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary.
