Dorothy Pinkston Obituary
Dorothy Fern Pinkston peacefully entered Heaven's Gates on April 18, 2023, in Yukon, OK at the age of 100. Her century of life was full of spunk, memories and love for her family.
Dorothy was born to parents James and Gladys Paxton on July 5, 1922, in Glencoe, OK. She grew up in the Glencoe area on a family farm and loved to cook. She met the love of her life, William Pinkston, and they were devoted to each other for 60 years. Together they raised 2 children, Kenneth and Sharon, whom they loved very much. She found joy in staying home with her children as they were growing up and poured encouragement and important life lessons into them. Dorothy was a talented seamstress and created beautiful dresses and clothes for her family. Most importantly, she taught them how to have fun! Throughout Dorothy's life, she was known for her sparkling eyes, sweet smile, and sense of humor. Dorothy will be missed by all who knew her and loved her dearly.
Dorothy Fern Pinkston is preceded in death by her loving husband William Pinkston, and parents James and Gladys Paxton.
Dorothy is survived by daughter Sharon and husband Lonnie Danner, son Kenneth and wife Charlene Pinkston, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous family and friends.
Dorothy's life will be remembered with a Graveside Service at 2 PM on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Glencoe IOOF South Cemetery (Yost Rd, Glencoe, OK). Services are under the direction of Ingram, Smith and Turner Mortuary in Yukon, OK.
