Dewayne Alan Maxey, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many, left us peacefully on April 24, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on January 20, 1948, in Oklahoma City, OK, Dewayne was a lifelong resident of Yukon, making an indelible mark on the community he cherished.
Dewayne dedicated over 40 years of his life to Southwestern Bell, honing his skills as a technician and embodying the true spirit of hard work. His commitment extended beyond his profession; he served as a City Council member and even held the esteemed position of Vice City Mayor, advocating for the residents of Yukon and helping shape the vibrant community we all love today.
Known as the life of the party, Dewayne had a remarkable knack for bringing joy to others. His infectious laughter and quick wit could lift spirits in any room. He will be fondly remembered for his ability to find humor in life's moments, big and small, leaving behind a legacy of joy and warmth.
Dewayne was preceded in death by his parents, L.D. Maxey, Roberta Maxey, and brother Jim Maxey. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Carrico; grandchildren, Chaunce and wife Jill and Cashan and wife Avilsi. He was also a proud great-grandfather and "Old Geezer" to Kannon, Abigail, and Stiles whom he cherished deeply and his sister, LeighAnn Rausch.
