David Johnson Obituary

David Robert Johnson, 72, went home to meet Jesus on November 23, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born November 10, 1950, in Prince Edward County, Virginia to Robert “Bob” Edmonds and Carole (Blake) Edmonds. David spent his early years living in Menomonie, WI with his 11 siblings. He was adopted in 1968 when John E. Johnson married Carole and gained an incredible father before relocating with the entire family to Bethany, OK to begin a new life. Music and singing with his family was one of his many passions. In 1977, David earned his favorite title, “Dad,” with the birth of his son Kristen. He was notorious for spoiling his numerous nephews and nieces and was known as the “fun uncle.” In his later life, he transferred this to his two grandchildren that were his pride and joy. Until the day he died, David would say his family was the most important thing to him.

David is preceded in death by his parents, John E. and Carole Johnson. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Kristen and wife, Tiffany Johnson; grandchildren, McKinley and Ethan; siblings: Kathy and husband, Terry Smith of Boyceville, Wisconsin, Carolyn and husband Steve Crites of Boyceville, Wisconsin, Judy and husband Greg Davis of Ridgeland, Wisconsin, John and wife Denise Johnson of Yukon, OK, Debbie Boyer of Bethany, OK, Margie and husband, Joe Shreffler of Alameda, California, George and wife Ila Johnson of Bethany, John E. Jr. and Barbara Johnson of OKC, Oklahoma, Teri and husband Mark Miranda of Arcadia, OK, and Cheryl and husband Mike Roberts of Bethany, OK.
