Charles Ray Mundell Jr passed away on October 26, 2025, in Guthrie, Oklahoma at the age of 90. He was born on March 22, 1935 in Moore, Oklahoma to parents Charles Robert and Jewel Christine Mundell.
Charles married the love of his life on February 22, 1954. They went on the have four children, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and one great great great grandchild.
Charles was born a farm boy. He worked on the family farm during his youth and well into his adulthood. He also worked in the oil field and was a part of the airport maintenance crew, working his way up to supervisor of oustide maintenance at all three airports in Oklahoma including Wiley Post, Page, and took over his fathers position at Will Rogers World Airport.
Charles biggest passion was his family first, followed by his love for old trucks and building big motors for family, friends, and the old racing community at the Oklahoma State Fair Speedway. He and his wife "momma" also loved to go to the horse races and travel. Growing up, they loved taking the kids to the lake from Easter weekend to Labor Day weekend. Charles was always the one to take the kids out and spend the entire day on the lake. He would always say "I am not going in until the last kid says no more skiing."
His favorite truck was his Orange Blossom Special, which he took to several car shows winning best in show. This truck was a tribute to the love of his life and the front plate bore her nick name "Diamond Lil". Charles was the best father and friend any person could ask for, and he will be missed dearly.
Charles is survived by his daughter Carrie Kinsey and husband Larry; son Robert Mundell; daughter Kathrine Harms and husband Arthur; grandchildren Brian Winchester, Isaac Kinsey, Ethan Kinsey, Kristie Talley and husband Brad, Kearstin Davis, Kyle Mundell and wife Kylie, Randy Mundell, David Mundell, Jennifer Mundell, Emily Craig and husband Steven, and Carrie Lakin and husband John; fifteen great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and one great great great grandchild; along with his extended family.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Jewel Mundell; wife Carrie Mundell; son Michael Mundell; granddaughter Stacey Winchester; brother William "Bill" Mundell; sister Barbara Young, and sister Charlene Fulks.
