Chapin Lane Compton passed away on March 12, 2026, in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 46. Chapin was born to parents Lane and Whitney Compton on May 8, 1979 in Anadarko, OK. He grew up in Banner, Oklahoma alongside his siblings Chance, Chloe, and Claire. His family later moved to Yukon where he attended school graduating with the Yukon High School class of 1998 with honors. Chapin went on to work alongside his father doing paint and body work. Most recently he was assistant manager for Braums Ice Cream and Dairy Stores. Chapin had a work ethic that was second to none and his location was ranked number one in the market.
Chapin had a passion for cars and was very involved in the Oklahoma City racing community. He loved hanging out with his family and friends and became involved in their interests and activities. He was known to give those he loved a nickname as well. Chapin was artistic and could master any skill he set his mind to. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him dearly.
Chapin Lane Compton is preceded in death by his parents Lane and Whitney Compton; sister Chloe Cormack; and grandfather Darrel Parker. Chapin is survived by his brother Chance Compton; sister Claire Jacks and husband Nicholas; grandmother Sunny Parker; grandmother Janie Foutz; nieces and nephews Whitney and Liam Jacks, Lane and Colby Cormack, Jacoby Compton and Keleigh Scarlett; Tatum Compton, and great nephew Ace Compton; chosen brother for life Jeremy Birlew; cousin Carli Keena-Shelton, husband Joseph and their daughters Sophia and Josephine; aunt Kim Dorward; great aunt Kathy Dobry; along with his extended family and friends.
Chapin's life will be remembered on Tuesday, March 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Ingram, Smith, and Turner Mortuary. Services are under the direction of Ingram, Smith and Turner Mortuary in Yukon, OK.
