Carrie Hill Obituary

Carrie Lynn Hill, beloved mother, daughter, and sister, was called to her eternal home on May 28, 2020, at the age of 44. Carrie was born to parents Steve and Lynn Cook on June 19, 1975, in Oklahoma City.

She grew up in the Yukon/Mustang area and graduated from Mustang High School. From an early age, she loved to dance and perform and was a dance captain and choreographer at a local dance school. She was involved in Speech and Debate, which led her to obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Speech/Drama and English Education, and later a Master’s Degree in Adult Education. Carrie taught at the middle school level as well as many years at the high school level. She taught students to perform and compete in Debate and Speech events, as well as English and other subjects in the Arts. She began in the Theater Arts department at UCO where she loved to empower her students and motivate them to become excellent teachers.

Carrie is the proud mother of son Colton, 17, and Hogan, 3, both of whom she loved very much. Throughout Carrie's life, she was known for her laugh and zany humor, for loving and having fun with her family, and for being a guiding light for her students. She loved trips to the lake, the beach and ski trips with Colton and dear friends. Most of all, she loved to plan family trips for the nine of us: Carrie, Colton, Hogan, Mom, Dad, Heather, Grant, Daylen, and Alex. She always made sure there would be some aspect of the trip that each person would love. She worked as a Graduate Teacher in Theatre Arts at UCO for 7 years. Carrie will be missed by all who knew her and loved her dearly.

Carrie Lynn Hill is preceded in death by grandparents: Jim and Loretta Cook and Don and JoAnn Burton; uncles: Russell Cook and Larry Green. Carrie is survived by sons Colton and Hogan; parents Steve and Lynn Cook; sister Heather Mitchell and husband Grant; nephew Daylen; niece Alex, aunts and uncles: Nan and Keith Lindsey, Janet and Don Davis, Lynette Green, Jim and Pam Cook, Roger and Claudia Burton, and many cousins and loving family members.
