Carlin Henderson Obituary

Carlin Alvin Henderson passed away on August 19, 2025, in Tuttle, OK at the age of 60.

Carlin was born to parents Tennie "Carolyn" and Royce Henderson on June 29th, 1965 in Guymon, OK. He grew up in Hooker, Oklahoma where he attended school. At the age of eleven, he gained a Mom when his Dad married his step mother Madell (Ricks) Henderson. Carlin graduated with the Hooker High School class of 1983. He was very active in 4-H and FFA. He wanted to grow up and be a farmer just like his grandpa. Carlin went on to attend Panhandle State University where he earned a double bachelors in Agricultural Business and Animal Science. While in college, he married Shannon Rich McMichael and from that union was blessed with two children Alyssa Christine and Tennison Lane. He was a father who loved his children with his whole heart and passed along the importance of having a good work ethic and giving back to others. One of his favorite roles was being Papa Carmel to his grandchildren Adelaide, Racen, Emmalynn, and Jeremiah.

Carlin was raised on the family farm known as Circle T & Diamond H Farms. He learned his hard work ethic while working on the farm from his grandfather Glenn Austin Teel. After his grandfather passed, he went on to work as a loan officer for First National Bank in Liberal, Kansas. He moved on to Legacy Bank in Binger, Oklahoma and eventually to First National Bank in Tuttle, Oklahoma where his children were raised. Carlin made a brave career change and opened a New York Life Insurance agency in Tuttle that he operated for a few years. He made another career change and opened Carlin Mortgage Group and worked as a mortgage broker for a few years. His final career was working in the trucking industry as Vice President of Operations for Western Flyer Express until January of this year.

Late in his life, Carlin found his soulmate and a special happiness with his wife Glenda. After all the stops and starts he had experienced, this connection brought a breath of fresh air and a whole new life back into him again. They loved going to the lake house at Texoma, spending time in their shop with their family listening to music and watching TV, and especially being with their dogs Cruz and Jack Henderson.

Throughout Carlin's life, he was known by his family and friends as being someone they can always count on. Even though he couldn't dance well, he still would try when he was really happy. This lead to his family calling him the Dancing Bear. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A private gathering in Carlin's honor is being held on a date in the near future.

Carlin is survived by his wife Glenda Henderson; daughter Alyssa Tarpley and husband Darin; son Tennison "Lane" Henderson and wife Kendra; stepson Jesse Gregory and wife KateLinn; stepdaughter Santana Cope and husband Colton; four legged children Cruz and Jack Henderson; grandchildren Adelaide Robertson, Racen Robertson, Emmalynn Robertson, and Jeremiah Tarpley; sister Meliah Ratcliff and husband Allen; step sister Trisha Baldwin and husband Tom; step brother Todd Ricks and husband Randy; bonus sister Rhonda Walker and husband Greg; bonus brother Billy Jack Traxler and wife Jennifer; in-laws that loved him like he was one of their own, and he loved as if they were his own Jack and Barbara Traxler; nieces Danica Kramer and husband Kolby, Miranda Compton and husband Bobby, Megan Tweedy and husband Matt, Mindi Abdon, and Courtlyn Traxler; nephews Jacob Traxler and wife Nicole, Brayden Traxler and fiance Ali Ledesma along with so many great nieces, great nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
