Brian John Dennis, born May 31, 1962, in Wichita, Kansas, passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 24, 2025, at the age of 62.
Brian grew up the youngest of three brothers in Bethany, Oklahoma. He was a gentle, curious kid with a sly sense of humor, and discovered his love of figuring out how things work, his passion for fishing, and an enduring fascination with pet reptiles.
Upon graduation from Oklahoma State University with an engineering degree, Brian took a job with Xerox Corporation in Oklahoma City. It was a life-changing decision - a few years into his career, Brian met a fellow employee, Andrea Duncan. They married in 2001, a union that produced four sons. Brian worked at Xerox until his retirement, after 30 years on the job, in 2017.
Becoming a stay-at-home Dad with young sons Nathan, Henry, Andrew, and Benjamin still in school, Brian found his true calling. With Andrea, they devoted the next several years to raising their sons to be responsible, curious, and empathetic individuals. As a dedicated Scout Leader, Brian guided not just his own sons but many young boys, instilling in them a love for the outdoors, leadership skills, and a deep sense of integrity. His varied interests - abandoned muscle cars, traveling, Godzilla Movies-and his belief in education helped make him an intelligent, understanding, and loving father. His sons are Brian's true legacy. Brian will be missed by all who knew him and loved him dearly.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife Andrea Dennis; sons Nathan, Henry, Andrew and Benjamin Dennis; mother Berniece Dennis; brother Kevin Dennis and Lynette Lobban; brother Mike Dennis and wife Melinda; along with loved and cherished members of his extended Duncan and Dennis families.
A rosary will be held 9 am Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mustang Oklahoma with Mass following at 10 am. Burial will be held at 1pm at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, Oklahoma. The care of Brian and the Dennis family was entrusted to Ingram, Smith, and Turner Mortuary of Yukon.
Memorial contributions in Brian's honor may be made to Last Frontier Council, Scouting America or Tuttle Parks and Recreation.
