Betty was a native and long-time Oklahoman, although her life’s journey included time spent living in Texas and Virginia as well. She married just two weeks shy of her 17th birthday and was blessed to enjoy 47 years with her loving husband, Charles, before his passing in 1997. Together they were actively involved in their church and enjoyed participating in a bowling league for many seasons. Betty’s family points out decisively, though, that her greatest purpose in life was being a caregiver and provider for others. She worked in the nursery at church and devoted countless hours to helping with Meals on Wheels. Betty would send frequent care packages in the mail to her grandkids when they were in college. She spent many days playing games on the floor with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty was always in a giving frame of mind, and especially liked doting on her family.
