Avery Mae VanFleet

Avery Mae VanFleet passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in the comforts of her home on May 3, 2023, in Mustang, OK at the age of 9. Avery completed her final battle with leukemia and her strength and determination over the course of seven months have been an inspiration to so many.  Her precious smile and heart of gold will always be remembered by her parents Nathan and Maegan, and siblings Kason, Conrad, and Mila.

Avery was born as the second oldest child on February 25, 2014, in Sumter, SC. Her kind and compassionate spirit made her a valuable friend to her classmates, and she found joy being around horses and riding the gentle giants.  She always found fun in everyday moments, especially during girls trips to Target with her Mom and enjoying the samples at Costco.  She was an avid rhythmic gymnast where her specialties were her backbend, cartwheels, and turning herself into a pretzel!  She had an affinity for animals and babies and wanted very much to be a veterinarian and a mother some day.

Avery was baptized at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and her family looks forward to the day they can be reunited again.  Avery is survived by her parents Nathan and Maegan VanFleet; siblings Kason, Conrad, and Mila; grandparents John and Sarella Anderson, Sandra Marshall, and Brad and Belinda VanFleet; and many other extended family and friends.

Avery's life will be celebrated on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mustang, OK. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Services are under the direction of Ingram, Smith and Turner Mortuary in Yukon, OK.  Flower donations accepted by Thursday, May 18th at Ingram, Smith, and Turner Mortuary; 201 E Main Street Yukon, OK 73099.
