Annamma (Rajamma) Mathai

Annamma Mathai (Rajamma) was born on March 3, 1947, in Pathanapuram, Kerala, India, as the third child of the late Mr. and Mrs. K. J. Mathai of Puthuparambil House. She was lovingly raised alongside her siblings: the late M. Josephkutty, Kunjoonjamma Varghese, Leelamma George, and John Mathai.

On November 23, 1967, Annamma married Mr. O. V. Mathew, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Omamootil Varghese of Punalur, Kerala. Their marriage was solemnized at Kadakkamon Assemblies of God Church. Together they shared a loving and faithful marriage for forty-two years until the Lord called her beloved husband home on September 10, 2010.

In March 2000, Annamma and her husband immigrated to the United States, where they became devoted members of First IPC Church in Oklahoma City, now known as CrossPoint Church. Later, she became a cherished member of Philadelphia Church, Rowlett, Texas, after her daughter, Renny Jacob, and son-in-law, Pastor P. C. Jacob, answered God's call to serve as the pastor.

Annamma was known for her gentle spirit, gracious heart, and warm, infectious smile that naturally drew people to her. She possessed a quiet strength and a comforting presence. Even in difficult moments, she responded with patience, kindness, and grace. Though she was never the loudest person in the room, her love, humility, and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Her greatest joy was her family. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, continually encouraging them through her prayers and unwavering faith. Worship was the heartbeat of her life. She began each day singing songs and giving praise to God. Her life was a beautiful testimony of steadfast faith, humble service, and complete devotion to Jesus Christ.

On June 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, the Lord graciously welcomed Annamma into His eternal presence. While her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, they rejoice in the assurance that she is now in the presence of her Savior, where there is no more pain, sorrow, suffering, or death.

Annamma was blessed with two children, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Renny Jacob; her son-in-law, Pastor P. C. Jacob; her son, Binu Mathew; her daughter-in-law, Susan Mathew; her grandchildren, Jennifer Paul (Jeshuran Paul), Jessica George (Zachary George), Joshua Jacob (Shayna Jacob), Nehemiah Binu Mathew, and Rebecca Ann Mathew; and her beloved great-grandson, Silas Mathai George.

Though her physical presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and church community, they are comforted by the blessed hope found in Jesus Christ. They look forward to the glorious reunion in heaven, where they will see her again in the presence of the Lord, who reigns forever.
