Allen Bentley Obituary

A leader of men, scouts, his family and fellow church members, Allen Jay Bentley served his country for 26 years in the Army and the National Guard, the OKC Police for 25 years, local churches his entire life, and most importantly, his family. Born January 28, 1960 and joining his heavenly Father on May 9, 2022, Allen wore many titles; Lt. Colonel in the army, Master Sargent with the Police, Deacon to the church and community, but his favorites title was husband and father and "Poppy". His example of service was witnessed by just about everyone he met. Whenever there was a need, Allen was there. He demonstrated true leadership by serving those he led, placing their interests ahead of his own. Allen met Sandy, the love of his life, and the two were married April 5, 1981. They lived near Ft. Sill for several years prior to his 3-year assignment in Germany. Together they have two sons who both became Eagle Scouts under their father's leadership.

Allen is survived by his wife, Sandy, their two sons, Adam, and Andrew, Andrew's wife, Taryn, and granddaughter, Ruby: and his sister Connie Adaire. He is preceded in death by his brother, John Bentley and his parents, Aubrey and Vada Bentley.
