Melvin Eugine Reid

Melvin E. Reid, 94, passed peacefully to his next life on December 17, 2019. Mel was born in Duncan, OK to Mary Etta Bass and Earl Reid.

Mel served during WWII in the Air Force and was discharged in 1945. He met his wife Kathy in 1948 and they were married on March 12, 1949. Mel then attended OU for 2 years and in 1954, he graduated from OCU Law School. He worked for the Legal Land Dept of Sohio Petroleum Co. where he retired in 1983. His second career was with the Oklahoma Retired Citizen Travel Club. Mel is survived by his wife of 72 years, Kathy; children Gary & Toni Reid, and Brent & Veronica Reid; Grandchildren Tricia Swan, Ryan Reid, James Reid, Caleb Reid, Christopher Reid, Timothy Reid, Nicholas Constant, and Jeremiah Constant; and 7 Great-Grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held Monday, December 23, 2019, at 10:00 AM at Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary, 201 E. Main Street, Yukon, OK.
