Bart Cooke Obituary

Bart Alan Cooke, born March 2, 1973, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 26, 2019, in Manhattan, Kansas, while attending an OU football game. He was 46 years old.

Bart grew up in Bethany, Oklahoma, and was the son of James and Frances Cooke. He attended Putnam City West where he graduated from high school in 1991. After graduation, he attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard for 6 years. He married the love of his life, Charyl on February 5, 1994, and together they raised two children, Austin and Ashlyn, in Yukon, Oklahoma. He was a dedicated employee of Karndean Design Flooring as a Commercial Business Manager. He enjoyed traveling with his family, attending OU football and OKC Thunder basketball games, going on fishing trips, hunting, and playing the piano, but more than anything, he simply enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a great passion for cooking, especially on the grill.

Bart’s bigger than life personality, contagious smile, witty sense of humor, and zest for life will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Bart was preceded in death by his parents James and Frances Cooke, and his brother James Cooke.

Bart is survived by his wife Charyl Cooke, son Austin Cooke, daughter Ashlyn Cooke and future son-in-law Austin McKay, sister Samantha Cooke, father-in-law and mother-in-law David and Barbara Hague, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Michele Hague, nephews Parker Hague and Andrew Hague, nieces Brin Hague and Kayla Coleman, aunt Harriet McGee and husband Bobbie, aunt Kathryn Chapman and numerous cousins.
